San Diego’s friendliest gym all starts with these fabulous coaches. These are the folks that will help take you from where you are today to where you dream of being, and they’ll make sure you have a great time doing it! We focus on encouragement, not competition, so you always feel comfortable while you’re getting strong.

  • Eric Gohl

    Head Coach

    Head Coach Eric Gohl is focused on individual personal improvement regardless of where clients currently are on their fitness journey. Eric discovered CrossFit when he was attending personal training school. After getting his Level 1 certification, he spent all of his savings to outfit his mom’s garage into a two-person gym. Since then, he’s always been training, either himself or his clients.
    “Being part of someone’s journey towards being able to do something they never thought they’d be capable of performing or reaching a goal that seemed too far out of reach is my favorite part of coaching,” he says. “I also like bringing a lighthearted attitude to my coaching with a good amount of humor and bad jokes.”

  • Kymmi Kellems


    Kymmi Kellems says the most amazing thing about being a CrossFit coach is witnessing people achieve their goals on a daily basis. “I love helping people!” she says. “Whether it is just that extra encouragement to push them a little harder OR that moment when a specific cue you give them ‘clicks’ and their movement improves, it’s awesome.”

    “My friend who introduced me to CrossFit wanted to expand into our community and open a box,” she says. “With my background in teaching dance, excitement about CrossFit, passion for people and love for new adventures, I decided to get my Level 1 certification and help them open the very first CrossFit box in Ashland, OR. And I feel confident in saying, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.”

  • Blake Adams

    Team Director and Operations Manager

    Blake Adams works hard to make sure CrossFit Ocean Beach is a place where people come together to improve their health, happiness, productivity, and sense of well-being.

    Blake discovered CrossFit after ballooning up to 240 lbs. “No matter how many salads I ate or miles I ran, I could never drop the pounds before a nasty overuse injury would sideline me again,” he says. A friend introduced him to CrossFit, and the rest is history. “After 4 years of CrossFitting, my wife and I realized we had such a passion for CrossFit and all the good that it does for people that we wanted to open our own facility, and here we are today!”
